Swachh Bharat Abhiyan-Cleanliness Is A Lifestyle, Not A Choice.
India is known for many beautiful things, but cleanliness is not one of them. We are expert at littering and being unhygienic, and our age-old culture is partial to be blamed for this. With our country growing at the pace of a leopard, our sanitation practice can undoubtedly be reassessed. Let us go through specific ways we can bring about a change, creating a ‘swachh bharat’ , in its wake.
● Drainage: Improved drainage is extremely important for our country, with so much liquid waste being produced every day. Blocked drains and leakages can instantly ruin an environment, and can be extremely unsanitary. For the improved state of the country, proper drainage should be prioritised
● Waste management: The main predicament in most cases is ludicrous waste management, which leads to overflowing rubbish bins and fetid public places. Working out a proper way towards a systematic waste management system is an imperative step towards a sanitised city
● Better and more toilets: We not only more toilets in sheer numbers but also better build toilets. Toilets which are better equipped and well-maintained and has access to running water. Having more functioning toilets in place mean lesser incidents of open defecation.
Sanitation is no longer a choice that you may not implement into your lifestyle. It is an essential element of society and cannot be ignored for much longer. We are stepping into the era of globalisation, and such an unsanitized environment is not doing our country any favours. This is where initiatives like swachh bharat abhiyan play a vital role in bringing about change. Brought about by the Govt. and executed by Indian Sanitation Coalition, swachh bharat mission is an initiative which gets into the grime and dirt of things to keep our country sanitised.
